Who We Are

We are a husband and wife team called to accompany people through life's sacred thresholds.

Together we bring different gifts that work in harmony.

Cassandra is the witness, guide, and teacher. Her calling has been forged through lived experience, personal transformation, and a lifelong commitment to discernment. She creates spaces where people are invited to tell the truth, encounter themselves honestly, and discover the wisdom already present within them.

Dale is the steady presence behind the work. He builds, protects, grounds, and supports the spaces where transformation unfolds. His role is not to stand in front, but to ensure that the work is held with stability, safety, and practical care.

Neither role is greater than the other.

Together they embody partnership, mutual respect, and the balance of strength and compassion.

We do not claim perfection. We offer presence. We do not place ourselves above those we serve.

We simply walk with others because we have walked difficult roads ourselves.

Why We Exist

We exist because transformation deserves to be witnessed. Many people experience life's greatest changes alone. They carry grief without ceremony, calling without guidance, endings without blessing, and beginnings without support. We believe no one should have to cross life's deepest thresholds unseen.

Our purpose is to create spaces where people feel seen, heard, witnessed, challenged, encouraged, and deeply respected. We do not rescue people from their lives. We walk beside them as they discover their own capacity to move forward. Sometimes that means offering compassion. Sometimes it means asking the difficult question.

Sometimes it means holding up the mirror that allows a person to see what fear, shame, or habit has hidden.

Always, it means believing that every person possesses the capacity for growth when they are willing to engage honestly with themselves.

What We Believe About Human Transformation

We believe every human being carries within them an innate capacity for wisdom, healing, and growth.

Transformation cannot be forced. It cannot be borrowed. It cannot be handed to another person. It must be chosen. Real change begins when a person is willing to become honest with themselves. Every threshold asks something to be released and something new to be embraced. Discernment, courage, compassion, and accountability allow that crossing to become possible. We believe that ancient wisdom still has something to teach us—not because we seek to recreate the past, but because timeless human truths continue to illuminate the present. We draw inspiration from the contemplative, communal, and symbolic traditions of our Western European heritage while honoring the dignity and freedom of every individual.

How We Serve

We serve through radical hospitality. We open our doors. We make space. We listen deeply. We witness without rushing to fix. We ask honest questions. We speak truth with compassion. We create environments where people can slow down, discern clearly, and take their next faithful step. Our work may take the form of conversation, ceremony, teaching, retreat, formation, or simple presence. Whatever the form, our purpose remains the same: To help people cross life's thresholds with greater awareness, integrity, and hope.

What Practices Shape Us

Our ministry has not been shaped by comfort. It has been shaped by perseverance. By rebuilding after loss.

By choosing love after disappointment. By learning from mistakes. By remaining open when life invited us to become closed. We are shaped by daily practices of reflection, prayer, contemplation, honest conversation, hospitality, and service. We seek a living balance between contemplation and action, tradition and innovation, masculine and feminine gifts, individual responsibility and mutual support. We believe sacred living is found not by escaping ordinary life but by meeting it with intention, courage, humility, and grace.

What We Promise

If you come with an open heart and a willingness to participate in your own transformation, we promise to meet you with compassion, honesty, and respect. You will be heard. You will be witnessed. You will be challenged when necessary. You will be encouraged when needed. We will not tell you who to become. We will help you uncover who you already are beneath fear, expectation, and old stories. We cannot promise that the journey will be easy.

We can promise that you will not walk it alone while you are with us.

What Boundaries We Keep

Sacred spaces require healthy boundaries. We commit ourselves to honesty, mutual respect, and personal responsibility. We do not participate in gossip, contempt, manipulation, or the diminishing of another person's dignity. We speak to one another rather than about one another whenever possible.

Our home, our hearts, and our community are offered with generosity, but never from obligation or entitlement.

Trust is earned through integrity. Respect is freely given and mutually maintained.

Healthy boundaries are not barriers to love. They are the structures that allow love, truth, and transformation to flourish.

Our
   Story

Dale & Cassandra

Dale & Cassandra
1991- Present

A 30+ year journey together of walking the path less traveled...

The Day We Met was April 1, 1991 (yes, April Fool's Day).

Our first home together was a country shack with no hot water and no heat - our baths were heated with a cattle iron and it was the 1990s, not the 1920s!

We were really excited when we moved 'up' to a tiny apartment with full-on indoor plumbing. Since then we've been through several homes, added four babies and now four grandbabies.

Our life together has held so much happiness but also what feels like more than our share of loss and grief - multiple accidents, house fires, diseases, surgeries and loved ones gone too soon.

In a critical turning point or should I say turning points were in the summer of 2014 we lost a very special member of our home to a brain tumor after months of no one listening that something was wrong, then a few months later our son was in in an accident that was said was something out of a horror film and it felt especially unfair when a few months later our three-story 100+ year old house burned to the ground and was a total loss and and and... the list went on and on. And absolutely, we were angry. We were bitter. But we chose to keep our focus on healing and living an empowered life, and in 2017 we traveled to the US together to become certified in Walking Fire.

After a few more issues, hurdles and kicks in the ass, finally in the fall of 2020, we were able to move to our Created By Us Home in Winnipeg Beach.

We've planted memorial trees along with ideas, cleared our space, changed the landscape, and built our amazing Studio of Self-Love, Healing & Empowerment, where we now run our Walking Thru Fire Events, Martial Arts Training and Healing Therapies.

Love Notes From The CASS-Kicked Collective

"First of all Cass! For leading us all to healing and strength...... I cannot thank you enough! You have no idea the gift you have given me in giving myself this strength and trust!!!! Fierce!!!!!!!
To my sisters who broke boards and walked fire with me...... thank you for trusting me enough to walk over fire with me, and trusting yourself! I am honoured to have gone through this with you!
Also my sisters thank you for pushing me to go first and, in a sense, lead you through the board breaking and fire walking. I don't have that trust and confidence in myself but you pushed me to take that on.
I appreciate each of you and will never forget the gifts you have given me!"
